Carrfour, whose name means "Crossroads" in French, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1993 by the Homeless Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Its mission is to provide permanent housing and supportive services to maximize the self-sufficiency of the formerly homeless in Miami-Dade County and other cities in Florida through joint ventures with various non-profit organizations.
If you are homeless or about to be homeless, you must call the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust's Homeless Helpline at 1-877-994-4357. The Helpline is the "front door" to available resources in the community. Homeless individuals and families will be assessed according to their needs and vulnerabilities, and then directed to immediate services and assistance.
Individuals and families who are NOT homeless but in need of affordable housing and meet the following criteria can apply to be placed on our waiting list for housing: Applicant must live independently and harmoniously within the housing community; Applicant must agree to participate in the supportive services offered; Applicant must qualify as homeless under the U.S. HUD definition; Applicant must meet the project income requirement; Applicant must pass a drug screening and agree to remain drug-free; Applicant must have a disability to apply to live in certain communities.
