West Palm Beach, FL - 33407
West Palm Beach Housing Authority was set up to provide affordable housing options to low income individuals and families in the area in 1938, shortly after the The Housing Act was passed in 1937. It was the 7th Housing Authority to launch in Florida. They currently own, operate and maintain 712 Public Housing Apartments throughout 5 communities in West Palm Beach. WPBHA also manages the Housing Choice Voucher Program , formerly Section 8 certificate and voucher program. Currently they are contracted with almost 3000 apartments and homes contracted under this program. This program provides rental assistance to eligible families by paying a portion of the eligible families rent to landlords in the private market.
The current Housing Developments in the area are Dunbar Village, Southridge, Twin Lakes, Robinson Village and Pleasant City.
There may be a waiting list for rental apartments in the agency communities and the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Please contact the West Palm Beach Housing Authority directly for more information on the programs they offer or to check on availability if you are in need of housing assistance in the area.
