Yes. It’s an artist loft. The neighborhood has bars and restaurants and the occasional police presence. Its mostly families, young couples and quite a few older folks who live here. Some crabby neighbors who don’t like kids laughing or running around. A few who have obviously never lived in the city before and expect complete quiet after 8 pm. Mostly quiet though, with the occasional party or person playing loud music, but again... it’s an artist loft! People smoke weed, but it’s not a crack house. It’s harmless and it rarely affects anyone. You should know what you’re signing up for when you sign a lease here. It’s not a retirement community. It’s a good mix of people with typical communal living aspects.

No, not at all. There are a lot of individuals who use drugs, and have loud parties at night. Buildings often smell like marijuana every day

Yes. Marcy Holmes area is close to everything...yet remains relatively quiet when compared to other areas of Minneapolis. Building itself is very quiet.

2 cats max with a $300 pet deposit per animal. Only in some areas of the building. Dogs are approved by way of reasonable accommodation for service and therapy dogs. Birds and small fish tanks also allowed.

Yes. It’s long. If a resident moves out or into a different unit, they will go down the current resident waiting list first, then open it to the public.

Not really. They love to charge residents for everything. There is limited parking. Only 30 free spaces, the rest is paid street parking or an underground spot for an additional $135 a month. Current manager is incredibly unprofessional and rude. They increased rent during a pandemic for people who are mostly low-income residents. Rent has gone up $300 since I moved in 5 years ago. Community areas have time limits because of a few incidents where some residents abused the privilege, so we were all punished. Upside is that it’s a nice building, right by the river in a cool area. Relatively safe neighborhood but there have been a few apartment break ins when people let strangers follow them in. Many folks here aren’t working artists but a good percentage are. Not everyone has to “low income qualify” either. But there are a lot of families, young, middle aged, older people who definitely deserve to be here as artists. Management isn’t especially artist supportive. It’s all for show from developers who got a huge subsidy. I’ll be moving once the Covid crisis is less of a financial threat.

Only heat/water/trash. Electric bills are high and billed through the utility management company, JIT Energy which is owned by the developers, Dominium. Residents do NOT receive any financial benefits of the building being run on hydro power. Pay upwards of $120/150 a month in the winter for a 2 bedroom apt. And dealing with them over discrepancies is a nightmare.
