Provide affordable housing to low income persons who are 62+ and/or handicapped.

Rosamond Hills is the result of the vision of several local residents who saw the need for affordable senior housing.  In the late 1970’s, they formed a not-for-profit corporation composed of Antelope Valley residents, purchased property at the intersection of Sierra Highway and Rosamond Blvd., and obtained a loan from the federal government to build the first 44 apartments.  Later, the loan was modified and more apartments were added.  There are now 78 one bedroom units with a manager’s unit.  Some units have accessibility features.
The complex is owned by the not-for-profit corporation, Rosamond Hills, Inc. and managed by a management company hired by the 7 person Board of Directors of the corporation who serve without compensation

Most low income apartments have waiting lists. Some of these lists can take years until you can be called for openings. The key is to try to get on as many waiting lists as possible.
