Community Lodgings Alexandria Apartment Details

Community Lodgings' mission is to lift families from homelessness and instability to independence and self-sufficiency through Transitional Housing, Affordable Housing and Youth Education Programs.
Our apartments are located at 3908, 3912 and 3916 Elbert Avenue, and at 607 and 612 Notabene Drive. We house 37 disadvantaged families at below market rent. According to the Alexandria Times, affordable housing is only getting harder to come by: "In 2001, Alexandria was home to about 18,000 apartments deemed affordable " attainable by a family making 60 percent or less of the region's median income " but the supply has dwindled to around 5,600 units this year. The low-income, predominantly Latino families in these apartments are able to participate in Community Lodgings' free youth education programs, adult ESL  and parent education classes.
