Avalon housing was created in 1992, evolving from an emergency shelter program in an attempt to address the root causes of homelessness through the development of permanent supportive housing.
The mission of Avalon housing is to develop and manage permanent housing that is affordable to people with extremely low incomes, with a priority on those who are homeless and who have a mental or physical disability.

Most low income apartments have waiting lists. Some of these lists can take years until you can be called for openings. The key is to try to get on as many waiting lists as possible.
