The Poplar Grove Apartments are made up of 50 family units located on a five acre site. There are ten 2-bedroom, thirty 3-bedroom, and ten 4-bedroom townhouse apartments in the complex. The buildings have stucco exteriors and concrete tile roofs. The individual units have carpeting, washer/dryer hookups, 1 to 2 baths, mini-blinds, air conditioning, and individually fenced yards. Building materials have been used which will increase the energy efficiency by at least 15 % above the Title 24 energy standards, and appliances have the energy star rating. Stoves and space heating are natural gas. Fluorescent lighting is used throughout.
Site amenities include a 1,472 square foot community center with a kitchen and site manager's office, a play area, park like landscaping, and lighted carports for each unit. Many activities for the benefit of the residents and the community are being planned at the community center. The rural site is surrounded by single-family subdivisions on two sides, and farm land on two sides.
Rents are based on income.
This affordable housing program is for individuals and families with moderate incomes allowing below market rents for those who qualify. The program is not a subsidized housing program as each resident is responsible for their full amount of rent each month. Rental amounts are based on the pre-set income limits in the geographic area and not based on your individual household income. To be income eligible, your total household 'gross' income must be less than the pre-set income limit for the area.
