Rancho Hermosa is a two-story, 47-unit, tax credit development for formerly homeless families in Santa Maria. It consists of 4 one- bedroom, 2 two-bedroom, 41 three-bedroom apartments.
A county-wide survey revealed that there were a significant number of homeless families living in Santa Maria. Subsequently, the HASBARCO in conjunction with a private developer, joined forces to develop this property. It had previously been approved as a market rate condominium project but was never built due to the recession. This beautiful facility fulfills an unmet need for a stable living environment for formerly homeless families.
